Ice-9 Puzzle

 chewiecustomstickers; Ice-9, 3D printed

The puzzle was invented by David Pitcher. It has nine sides: six smaller kite-shaped on the top and bottom, and three larger diamond-shaped along the equator. Six axes of rotation allow to turn the larger faces by 180 degrees, and the three sideways pointing corners by 90 degree increments. Quite a unique geometry. The puzzle looks simple, but I think it might be harder than it seems. This puzzle does not shapeshift.

Originally I ordered it in black plastic. But Chewie contacted me back asking if I wanted this red, slightly translucent version. I couldn't say no! Currently it is the only copy of this puzzle in red translucent plastic.

The turning is good. Precise alignment is required, or some minor catching occurs.
